Entijuanarte Cultural Festival
Entijuanarte Festival Cultural is born as a cultural and artistic platform that seeks the exhibition, promotion and sale of contemporary art. In addition, to present workshops, concerts, conferences and lectures related to the art system in Mexico.
2008

The Cube
El Cubo is inaugurated as part of the architectural plant of the Tijuana Cultural Center. This space emerges as a museographic precinct with the purpose of reinforcing its offer in the visual arts and cultural heritage in the northwest of Mexico.
2009

We are all a small world
The Todos somos un mundo pequeño movement demonstrates against the appointment of the new director of the Centro Cultural Tijuana. The community breaks ties with the institution due to this event.
2010

Rodriguez Passage
Pasaje Rodríguez, a cultural corridor with galleries, bookstores and artist studios, is reactivated in the city of Tijuana. Projects created by graduates of the School of Arts such as Nodo, Praxis and Freelance, serve as spaces for experimentation and dissemination of the work of artists and students of the UABC.
2011

Black Work
The exhibition Obra Negra. An approach to the construction of the visual culture of Tijuana at the Centro Cultura Tijuana under the curatorship of Olga Margarita Davila and Carlos Ashida.

Art Operator
The Operador de Arte project was born, a working group that aimed to activate the emerging artistic practice through meetings, dialogues and practical theoretical exercises. Coordinated by Juan Villavicencio and Chantal Peñalosa. Advised by Hugo Lugo and Aldo Guerra.

Tijuanilla
The exhibition Tijuanilla, curated by Mauricio Cadena Ainslie, takes place. This group show presents the work of emerging artists from the city of Tijuana, most of them art school graduates, whose objective was to discuss the visual practices of young artists from Tijuana.
2012

206 Contemporary Art
Pasaje Revolución 206 Arte Contemporáneo is a dynamic space for dialogue, art dissemination and artistic encounters through group and individual exhibitions, workshops and conversations with mostly emerging artists from the state of Baja California under the direction of artists Melisa Arreola and Mónica Arreola.

Unexpected Relationships
Relaciones Inesperadas is born in Tijuana, a space for the development of contemporary artistic practices in a pedagogical context. Founded by Ingrid Hernández and Abraham Ávila.

State Center for the Arts
The Centro Estatal de las Artes is founded in the city of Tijuana. The center offers multidimensional and postmodern artistic education, integrating new platforms of knowledge, technologies applied to communication and the construction of multimodal and transdisciplinary artistic projects.

RETROFUTURO
RETROFUTURO, celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Tijuana School of the Arts, takes place.
2014

TJINCHINA Project Space
TJINCHINA Project Space, an independent art space that produces, promotes and multiplies current art and dialogue in the new frontiers, headed by artists Mely Barragán and Daniel Ruanova.

Peripheral
Periférica is founded, a project in charge of generating, distributing and preserving content related to the visual arts in the Baja California region. Integrated by María José Crespo, Daril Fortis, Eduardo Lozano Murillo and Paulina Méndez Garcilazo.
2015

1st International Congress on Arts Education: Community Territories
The I International Congress on Arts Education: Community Territories is held by the Tijuana School of Arts. Special guest: José Miguel González Casanova.

Landslide
Deslave is founded, a project dedicated to the exhibition and discussion of contemporary art, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary and non-traditional modes of expression. This platform is directed by Mauricio Muñoz and Andrew Roberts.

Contemporary Art Production Program
Relaciones Inesperadas creates the Contemporary Art Production Program (PPAC). This is presented as an experimental educational program recognized in Mexico and Latin America due to the trajectory of its facilitators: artists, curators and researchers active in the art ecosystem.
2016

II International Congress on Arts Education
The II International Congress on Arts Education: Models and Alternatives in Arts Education and Teaching is held by the Tijuana School of Arts. Special guests: Luis Camnitzer and Yamile Deriche Redondo.

Contemporary Photography Program (PFC)
The Contemporary Photography Program (PFC) began with the purpose of influencing artistic practices in Baja California. Tutored by Javier Ramírez Limón and coordinated by Aurelio Contreras.

Cine Tonalá Tijuana
Cine Tonalá Tijuana opens its doors, a cinema/restaurant-bar project with a special focus on visual and performing arts, music, theater, contemporary cinema and Baja California gastronomy.
2017

Permanent Seminar on Contemporary Theory
The Permanent Seminar on Contemporary Theory was created as a network of academics, writers and intellectuals to critically study current debates. The project was coordinated by Karla Villapudua, Conrado Pardo Eudave and Alfredo González Reynoso.
2018

ACME Show
Baja California is the guest of the sixth edition of Salón ACME, a platform and art event created by artists for artists that gives visibility, impulse and diffusion to emerging creators who develop their work both in Mexico and abroad. The curatorial proposal “A fictitious and wonderful country very close to a side of paradise” was carried out by Periférica, inviting artists from Baja California to be part of the show.

IV International Congress on Arts Education: Art and Technology
The IV International Congress on Art Education: Art and Technology, organized by the Tijuana School of the Arts. Special guests: Frency Fernández Rosales, Tania Candiani and Juan José Rivas.

Diploma in Criticism and Dissemination of Contemporary Art
The Diploma in Criticism and Dissemination of Contemporary Art is created and endorsed by the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature. This educational program was a co-production between Periférica and the Centro Cultural Tijuana.

V International Congress on Arts Education: Gender Equality
The V International Congress on Arts Education: Gender Equality is held by the Tijuana School of Arts. Special guests: Julia Alejandra Antivilo Peña, Karen Cordero Reiman, Sayak Valencia and Meritxell Calderón Vargas.

Angle Gallery
Ángulo Galería, a cultural and artistic meeting place that offers exhibitions, lectures and workshops to the community, is born.

Waiting Room (SDE)
Sala de Espera (SDE) is a project focused on the exhibition of diverse practices of contemporary art and culture that operates as a platform for various local, national and international artists. The space is directed by Luis Alonso Sánchez and Talia Pérez Gilbert.

SITAC Nodes: Tijuana "Binding the times".
The Patronato de Arte Contemporáneo (PAC) carries out SITAC Nodos: Tijuana “Hilvanar los tiempos” with Sayak Valencia, Thelma Gómez Durán and Lorena K’abnal as guest facilitators. Organizing committee: Ingrid Hernández, Daril Fortis and Christian Gómez.
2019

Women Color of the Earth
The project Women Color of the Earth. A self-managed space for learning among common people. Fanzine, dialogues, exhibitions and workshops. Since 2021 in Tijuana. Founded by Miriam García Aguirre.

Caradura Editions
Ediciones Caradura, a publishing house and art collective – whose interest is the process and not the ends – arises in 2019 in Territorio Kumiai from the edition and self-publication of fanzines on philosophy, art and politics, exploring the crossovers between these themes to then begin the edition of books, the creation of works and art exhibitions in exogalleries and cultural management.

Common Places
The organization INSITE returns to the region of Baja California, Mexico and California, United States, through the project Common Places, headed by curator Andrea Torreblanca.
