statement

In my work I explore nature from an ecological, geological and cosmological perspective. I am interested in researching environmental sciences and philosophical disciplines that deconstruct nature, showing us its beauty, resilience and fragility. I am interested in making visible the importance of the interconnection between the diverse ecosystems from a micro, macro and meso level to generate environmental awareness. In my practice I combine traditional media such as drawing, painting, collage, mixed media and installation using conventional media playing with regular and irregular formats. My mode of production is based on collage as a fundamental tool since this methodology has allowed me to play with the re-signification of images and visual elements. I approach the landscape genre from its deconstruction and try to move away from its classical representation. My visual language is composed through juxtaposed layers that combine figurative and abstract imagery that allude to the natural. I incorporate geological language, symbols, diagrams, maps and play with dimensionality and diverse uses of media to construct assemblages that make visible vital interconnections between life-sustaining ecosystems and reflect on our impact on the environment.
