Valentina Sepúlveda is currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, Tijuana campus. She received 2nd place in the XIII Biennial of Photography of Baja California (Baja California, 2024) and 1st place in Chicanx/Latinx Identity Show (San Diego, 2023). He has been part of multiple selections in biennials and group exhibitions. His most recent solo exhibition is entitled Identidad Border/ada at the Instituto de Servicios Culturales de Baja California (Tijuana, 2024). He was also part of the group exhibition entitled Devenires Brujos at the Centro Estatal de las Artes (Rosarito, 2024). His work is developed mainly in the disciplines of photography and installation. He lives and works in the Tijuana-San Diego cross-border region.

statement

Cross-border artist specialized in photography with explorations in installation, she takes from cinema, literature and contemporary art elements such as narrative and staging for the construction of her works. She is interested in questioning and reconstructing the concept of identity towards the absurd through explorations on gender performativity in relation to a cross-border territory, socio-cultural markers around sexuality and the nodes between the private and the public of inhabiting a body in a specific time and space.
