Plutarco Zazueta

Plutarco Zazueta is a graduate in fine arts from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, Tijuana campus. Through his work he explores denunciation and introspection through a multidisciplinary production. His work has been exhibited in collective exhibitions such as “Tierras únicas/ Identidades de Baja California” (2024) and the “Bienal Fronteriza 2024” in Texas, as well as in solo exhibitions such as “SLAP!” (2024) and “Patologías” (2022). His publications include “Libro Marino II” (2020) and “Libro Flamantes #19” (2020). He has also contributed to the cultural field through his social service at IMAC and CECUT.

Plutarco Zazueta is a visual artist whose multidisciplinary production addresses the themes of denunciation and
introspection. Through the series “Apátridas” he captures negative actions that today most of society continues to commit because our environment has been responsible for normalizing. Being part of this series “Dualidad de la narco cultura (contrastes en la frontera)” an interactive artist book, which was exhibited at the Bienal Fronteriza 2024 at the El Paso Museum of Art. Currently he is developing a multidisciplinary series called “SLAP!” where through graphics, sculpture, assemblage and installation he shares his experience of having left a high performance sport due to an injury and how thanks to the subsequent introduction to the visual arts he manages to heal emotionally that experience.
